First email from Where?!

So they want us to email the family really fast. and sorry if it looks weird these keyboards are kind of messed up! So we arived in lima at like 10 and then we went straight through security and coustoms. It was so crazy i couldnt understand anything people were saying. native speakers are totally different. So after we went through all that they got us all together and we waited for our bus. So as i was walking to load my stuff on the bus, so guy comes and grabs my bags and moves them like really 3 feet ahead of me and says ´´tip´´? i was so thrown off was this guy really asking me for a tip to move my bags 3 feet. well guess what he was serious. i said in english to this guy, you moved my bags 3 feet and you are asking for a tip. wow these people are crazy!! it made me laugh so hard. So we loaded the bus and headed straight to the mtc. Oh and the things i saw. The city of Lima i guess never sleeps. Everyone was outside walking the streets. it was weird. As we were driving youd see a large group of like 10 dogs, a fire of trash totally unattended, and people laying in the back of a truck drinking wine while on the freeway. I am not sure how ill get use to this. But we finally got here at like 2 am and they let us sleep in till 9 so that was nice! They leave the window opened and ive never heard more crazy noises in my life. No one knows what animals live here. It kept me up like all night. So then we went to breakfast and got one egg and a piece of bread. I might just weight 65 pounds when i get home. And this was after only eating airport pretzels all day yesterday. This is complete culture shock! Its throwing me off! But ya they are really nice people here. The peruvians are way short but are always smiling. Its weird being look at as a stranger. But ya i found out that the MTC, Temple and area office are in my mission. So the people i am meeting now are the people i will be serving!! Anways im glad yesterday is over. Worst day of my life. I sat by a guy from germany on the plane and i was telling him i was a missionary. So, he immediatly asks, ''So, you can read the bible in its original language right?'' and when i told him i couldnt he was visibly upset. I had to explain to him that i wasn't a scholar in anyway but that my purpose was to invite others to christ. So i gave him a passalong card and invited him to visit mormon.org. He said he would and i was pretty excited about that! The other guy i sat by was korean and i swear he has some of the worst gas ive ever smelled. It was no shame he did it the whole plane ride for 6 hours and it was so gross! anyways enough about that! im just here in peru and trying to understand what people are saying to me! Just some info, They say do not send packages to the mtc. They say it takes to long to go through coustoms and that it wouldn{t get here in time! So ya. But it looks like my pdays are wednesdays! ill let you guys know though!! i love you guys! thanks for all you do! it was fun talking to everyone yesterday! Hope all is well!! I love you guys!

Week 2

Well I have finally made it to my second P-Day. Its been a crazy week here at the MTC. I have never been more tired in my life. What is this 8 hours of sleep a night all about? and really no nap at all? I dont get it. But anyways its been a good week here. I feel like im in the movie Groundhog Day. Same thing every day. I think that is why you loose track of what day of the week it is. I dont know its just crazy. Anyways thanks everyone for the letters and support! As you know i got my visa this past week and will be leaving on Tuesday the 25 at 9:40 AM. I'll fly to atlanta and from there head down the Lima Peru! And as you know it says i am the only one in my travel group. So im a little nervous about it! im praying elder Reeder''s and Elder Zuro''s visa come in this week. If so they will also be traveling down with me on tuesday! But if not i am the travel group leader and the only travel group member! Its just a NBD because i travel all the time so i know exactly how it all works! But anyways i am excited to be down in Peru! I can''t wait to see what it looks like and what the people are like there!! I can't believe i only have 5 more days in Utah for 2 years! Its a weird feeling! But i know im doing the right thing!
So let me tell you about one of the talks i got to listen to this week! On sunday we had the chance to watch a rebroadcast of a talk Elder Bednar gave last Christmas here at the MTC. His talk was about the Character Of Christ! its was one of the most amazing talks ive ever heard! He talked about what is character? He said ''Character is moral qualities, strongly developed and consistantly lived." So he went on to define what is the Character of Christ? He said, "The Savior turns out, when the natural man would turn in." He went on and shared instances where the Character of Christ was demonstrated. And challenged each of us to find more examples. He also talked about Testimony and Conversion. And i loved how he defined Conversion. He said that," conversion is CONSISTANTLY being true to what you know." I loved that! i hope that i can be consistant to what i know more often. Anyways i loved the talk and thought id share some of that with you! I love you guys!
Im learning so much here at the MTC. Its a great place to be but im still not a huge fan at all! But that doesn''t mean i am not learning. Here at the MTC they drill the purpose into us! its on page one of preach my gospel! They stress the importance of teaching people according to their needs. Im learning so much about how to teach the gospel! Its crazy, they also tell us to challenge the investigator to baptism in our first visit! I was shocked at that. I have always been so nervous about asking investigators to be baptized! So when they said in the first lesson i freak! But the longer i''ve been here the more i understand why! Thats why im there, im there to bring people unto christ through faith in him and his atonement, repentence, BAPTISM, recieving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end! So why not ask them to follow the example of JesuCristo in the first lesson! I''m learning so much! Now the only problem is i need to start telling people that i have a message for the not a MASSAGE. The words in spanish are too similiar and i get them mixed up to often. Learning a language is tough, but i know that it will come if i put in the work and the lord will do his part!
Family, I love you all!! Taci Happy Birthday on Monday!! i can''t believe you are 14!! Enjoy the stake dances! They are overrated, so don''t get too excited about them! Well mom i hope you are doing great! i love you so much! thanks for the letters!! Tell seth to dear elder me some sports info!! You hardly hear anything here!! Thanks family for taking care of Ang! She loves coming over! And make sure that if you are making something to leave out the onions and the tomatoes. HAHA. Anyways i can''t wait to call you guys on tuesday! I love you ALL!

P-Day UNO

Wow i made it to my first P-day. I didn't think this day would ever come. I can't believe its finally here. So a little about my Companion Elder Reeder. He is from Brigham city. He has an older brother and a sister i believe. He is a good kid. So a little about what we do here. So we've got personal, companion, and language study everyday. We also have our 3 hour classroom instruction. This includes learning Spanish and learning how to teach a lesson. Thats a great class. We have Hermano Walker as our teacher and he does an amazing job. Jeff Toone also teaches in the classroom next to mine. Its nice to see him around. Our day also includes a 3 hour block where we teach a fake investigator. Its already hard enough to teach the gospel plainly but to do that in spanish is unreal. Its a great opportunity tough. I feel comfortable bearing testimony and saying prayers in spanish, but the rest is slowly moving along. Im excited for the day when i feel like i can communicate our saviors message effectively in spanish. I work for that day. I will have to say that there is nothing like spending an hour a day immersed in the book of mormon. Im learning so much about the importance of daily scripture study. I've relyed so much on prayer and have recieved answers to my prayers through the scriputures. I challenge all of you to take your scripture study more serious. Its blessed my life and i know it will bless yours. Spencer W. Kimball says, "I find when i get casual in my relationships with divinity and when it seems that no divine ear is listening and no divine voice is speaking that i am far, far way. If i immerse myself in the scriptures the distance narrows and the spirituality returns. I find myself loving more intensely those whom i must love with all my heart and mind and strength, and loving them more." What a wonderful promise for a prophet of the Lord.
Anyways I hope you all are doing good. Mom, dad, seth, sydney, taci, kalli, kade, reagan, jace, and winston(had to put him in there) i love you all so much! Thanks for the prayers. Thanks also for the packages. I love the notes inside from you guys. Dad thanks for your testimony in your letters. I appreciate the encouragement. Mom and sisters thanks for taking care of Angie.
